1. Information Stored Only on Your Phone
The following data stays strictly inside your device's private sandbox. We never receive it:
- Your alarms: times, custom names, groups, repeat schedules, dates, chosen audio, and wake challenges.
- App settings: Obsidian/Porcelain themes, languages, acoustic volume curves, snooze intervals, and preferences.
- Time suite & mindfulness: timer countdowns, stopwatch laps, focus intervals, 108 bead counter tallies, and world clocks.
- Custom ringtones: a local copy is copied to private app storage to ensure the alarm sounds even if the external file moves.
- Your Pro status.
- Ringing precision logs: planned vs actual ringing timestamps used only to alert you if Android OS battery optimizers delayed an alarm.
Delete anytime via Settings → Restore Factory Defaults, clearing app storage in Android settings, or uninstalling.
2. Information That Leaves Your Phone
The app connects to these outside services over encrypted (HTTPS) connections:
- Google AdMob (Free version only): Receives Advertising ID, device info, IP address, approximate coarse location, and ad interaction metrics to deliver non-intrusive ads.
- Google Firebase Analytics: Receives app instance ID, device model, Android OS version, app version, approximate location from IP, and feature telemetry (screens visited, crash events). Data retention is capped at 14 months.
- Google Play Billing (Pro upgrade): Payment is handled securely by Google Play. We never see your card or bank details.
- MET Norway (api.met.no): Receives approximate location (~1 km radius) strictly if location is granted, to fetch weather forecasts (at most once every 6 hours).
- BigDataCloud: Receives the same approximate location to display your city name on the clock face.
- Android Backup (Google): Your alarms may be saved to your phone's personal Google Drive backup if enabled in your Android settings.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, messages or files.
3. Android Permissions and Why We Use Them
- Notifications: Displays active alarms, wake challenge screens, focus alerts, and upcoming alarm reminders.
- Display Over Other Apps: Brings wake challenges to the front if an alarm rings while using another app.
- Exact Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Guarantees alarms ring at the precise minute set.
- Full-Screen Notifications: Shows alarms directly over the lock screen.
- Approximate Location (Optional): Displays live morning weather; rounded to ~1 km before sending.
- Do Not Disturb Access (Optional): Toggles DND automatically during scheduled focus sessions or alarms.
- Run at Startup: Reschedules your alarms automatically when your phone restarts.
- Flashlight: Uses camera flash LED purely as an ambient light source. Never accesses camera sensor or captures photos/videos.
4. Ads & Children's Privacy
Free version uses Google AdMob with consent choices in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads). Pro upgrade permanently removes all ads. Not Angry Alarm is not directed at children under 13.
5. Your Choices & International Rights
In accordance with GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), and DPDP Act 2023 (India), you have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of personal information. You can revoke location at any time, delete your data via in-app Factory Reset, or contact us directly.
